¹² In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was afflicted^(A) with a disease in his feet. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he did not seek^(B) help from the Lord,^(C) but only from the physicians.

¹² On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.

²⁶ She had suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse.

²³ Jesus said to them, “Surely you will quote this proverb to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me, ‘Do here in your hometown^(A) what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.’”^(B)
